Many people have written passionately about what they believe. That passion however, does not guarantee the reader of receiving the truth. Conviction can be in error and has even been known to provoke some to lie for their cause. Truth may not be found without some work on the part of the seeker.

A group of Christians in the ancient town of Berea were commended by one of the biblical writers for having great enthusiasm toward learning God’s message to them. They were further praised for not taking what they heard at face value, even though it came from the man who, many believe, was one of the greatest Christians who ever lived.

This eagerness to learn and willingness to search out the truth for themselves earned them the distinctive label of being "more noble than" other people of that time. (Read the passage)
